Beyond her Scream

This short story was inspired by a harrowing documentary about FGM that Katherine saw a few weeks after the birth of her second child. Her second child had been delivered by forceps and she was recovering from both an episiotomy and a tear at the time of viewing. The discomfort she was feeling enabled her to empathise with the agony women enduring FGM suffer, many of whom are young girls at the time.
