Screenwriting

After Lydia’s Song was published in 2014, I started to ponder whether it would be good to adapt it as a screenplay. The more I watched movies and TV dramas, I understood the power of visual storytelling and wanted to reach a wider audience than my book.

To cut a long story short, I took my first free screenwriting course in 2016, adapted Lydia’s Song into a feature film and began the journey of becoming a screenwriter. I soon learnt that my screenwriting skills had a long way to go and have ditched my original script in favour of writing it as a TV drama. In the meantime, I have written two TV pilots, a couple of short scripts, have more ideas where they came from and am continuing to learn on the job.

I have even rewritten a TV pilot for a producer – I’ll keep this website updated for news on any developments there!

I am also working with exciting new start-up K Enterprises on their filming side with lots of exciting projects in the pipeline.

More than Conquerors and P-Gen have had the most work done on them so far and have received some critical success. You can find out more by clicking on the link to my Coverfly profile page.

One of my short scripts – The Stairwell – about an asylum seeking family who face both tragedy and the support of their local community – was shortlisted in a competition by Scriptwriters & Co in 2021.
